Cheer Coordinator

Jessica Tackitt
Hello everyone and welcome to the Brandon Cowboys cheer page! My name is Jessica Tackitt; I am the Brandon Cowboys Cheer Coordinator. I have cheered & danced most of my life, and plan on putting my knowledge and experience to great use. I joined the Brandon Cowboys organization almost 9 years ago! All of my time has been spent as a coach with the Brandon Cowboys. Until recently I decided to become a board member, and fulfill the position of "Cheer Coordinator." I am looking forward to facing the challenges of my new position as we move forward into the 2012 season!
Registration is open, so be sure to register soon. I am excited about this upcoming season as a member of the 2012 board of directors. We have many fun and challenging events planned. Our #1 goal is to have lots of FUN! However, cheerleaders are expected to demonstrate a winning attitude and team spirit. A Cheerleader’s conduct at games and team events is especially important. Team pride, positive attitude, and gracious behavior towards teammates & competitor teams are “EXPECTED AT ALL TIMES”.
As you all may know, The Brandon Cowboys organization is a volunteer, parent/family-run organization, and it would not be possible to have a successful program without all of your help. If you are interested in becoming a Head Coach, Assistant Coach or Junior Trainer for any of our squads here is some basic info; To be a Head Coach you have to be at least 21 years of age, Assistant Coaches have to be at least 18 years of age and Jr Trainers need to be 3 years older than the oldest cheerleader on the squad.
As a Head Coach or Assistant Coach you will need to complete a background check. Once chosen, you will go through a coaches' training class to be certified and badged to work with the kids and be on the field. The Jr. Trainers are encouraged to attend the coaching classes as well, for extra knowledge. Our Jr Trainers can earn volunteer hours that they need for graduation and/or scholarships. All coaches are a vital part of the squads as they lend leadership, become role models and set good examples for the cheerleaders. If you are interested in any of the cheer coaching positions, please feel free to contact me. I encourage everyone to get involved and volunteer your time this season; you will make a difference in your child’s life and meet many new lifelong friends along the way!
